16 Aug Infected Zombie RPG is LIVE on KICKSTARTER!

It’s official people, Infected! Zombie RPG is now live on Kickstarter. Wow, what a ride it’s been so far. I planned on doing “a few minor touches” last night, and then realised that there were some major touches still needing doing… like fully detailing the postage levels! Wow. Then add to that a few more errors in the Sampler (I will definitely be getting a full, professional edit of the final book – lesson learned!) , and it was 5am before I hit the hay. Back up at 9:30am to finalise the Kickstarter.

And now it’s begun. We’ve already got 7 backers and $800 odd raised, so I’m pretty happy with that for the first few hours. I will cross my fingers and hope the word spreads to the rest of the world soon enough (it’s fairly late in the northern hemisphere right now, so  who knows?).

Thank you to everyone who have helped so far! My good mate Jet Liberson really stepped up to the plate to help with the Kickstarter video when things were looking grim, so a special shout out to him! And there have been so many others who have helped with advice and general feedback, so thank you to you all!

So What Now?

Well, there are a lot of things to be done. I have been contacting bloggers and previewers, and anyone who is in the media that I can think might be interested in this project. Of course, it’s a matter of throwing many lines and catching a few fish – I am an unknown quantity to many of them, and unless the Kickstarter really starts to take off, I may not capture their attention (that being said, I’ve had a number of articles done, or going to be done, so that’s awesome!).

Still, I have faith that I will continue to capture attention. Namely because I think the project stands out with its art, and with its composition. Though, I think having the Zombie tag can be in many cases a hindrance, because many people feel the genre has been done to (un)death. So I need to be able to show how this project is something different, rather than just a cliche with nice pictures!

More Activity

I think another great thing to do is to just be generally very active in the RPG community. To comment on blogs, to speak to people, and not to constantly just be pushing a product. That gets irritating very fast. So I will be writing more, and talking more, and not even discussing this project most of the time! Weird, right? Well, it feels better this way too. I dislike cramming a project down people’s throats.

Any Feedback?

If you have any feedback for the Kickstarter page, feel free to email me, or write a comment on the Kickstarter page itself. I will usually answer promptly, and I do listen to all feedback I get. If you have an idea for a pledge level that’s not on the list, let me know and I’ll see what can be done!

Now I hope that we run fast, and the infected don’t catch us!

      Hi Craig,

Thanks for your kind wishes! I am indeed keeping you in mind for the editing! It was one of the main points to correct in the Sampler, so it will be much needed 😉 Cheers again mate.
